Series Crackdown #5 TBR

Today kicks off the fifth round of the Series Crackdown!

Since I just kicked off the NEWTs Magical Readathon, some of these will be repeats of that TBR, but I want to try to add a few extras if I have the time, so here you are! My overly ambitious Series Crackdown TBR.

Wish me luck!

NEWTs Magical Readathon 2018 TBR

It's August--know what that means?!

My birthdaaaaaaay!

But also, NEWTs! If you're not a Harry Potter fan, NEWTs stands for Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests. You can read all about them here. NEWTs in the wizarding world are preceded by OWLs (Ordinary Wizarding Levels).

For us mere muggles, we have the NEWTs Magical Readathon. And, yes, it has an OWLs counterpart.

I sat my OWLs in June and received passing grades for
  • Ancient Runes
  • Arithmancy
  • Astronomy
  • Divination
  • History of Magic
  • Muggle Studies
  • Transfiguration
This means I can sit my NEWTs for the same subjects. Complete the first challenge, receive an Acceptable. Complete the first and second, receive an Exceeded Expectations. Complete all three challenges, and receive an Outstanding. In order to pass your NEWTs readathon-style, you must receive at least two Acceptables and one Outstanding--so a minimum of 5 books.

Oooooor you could be an overachiever and go for Outstandings in all your subjects, which for me would mean reading 21 books.

When do I think I'm going to find time to read 21 books?

That's not important! What's important is what I'm reading! So here it is--my TBR for the 2018 NEWTs Readathon.
